Credit for Student Loans
If you are one of the thousands of students who will be attending College next fall, this is the time to start looking at ways to finance your College education. This doesn’t mean that you have to rush right out this second and panic about finding ways to get money for College. There are some students out there who will have their parents take care of their education and then there are the students who do not have that luxury. Can students who are heading off to College without parental help get funding?
The answer is yes; there are plenty of ways to get funding for college without having credit or a cosigner. Everyone deserves a great education, even those who cannot afford it. The best way to get started is by doing some very extensive research. There are 3 different ways to pay for College, students’ loans, grants and scholarships. The best thing for you is to apply for as many grants and scholarships you can find since they do not have to be paid back.
You can call the United States Department of Education Office in your area and ask them for an application for the Pell Grant. You can also talk to your Guidance Counselor at school and see if they have an application they can give you, in the event that they don’t, they at least point you in the right direction. There are also plenty of scholarships out there to be had. A great resource for finding scholarships is online.
There are hundreds of hundreds of these scholarships online, the Internet is the best place to find these scholarships because there are so many out there that are not mainstream so not many students may know about them. Once you have exhausted your grant and scholarships search, you can apply for Federal Student Loans. The most popular students loans are the Stafford Loans and the Perkins Loans.
These are credit free loans and they are primarily based on the students need for financial aid. These loans and how much will depend on the information that you submit. Be as honest as possible; don’t change any information in order to get more funding. You will need your parents tax information, mortgage information so make sure that you have these documents when you file.
You can get an application from your Guidance Counselor or through the Department of Education in your city. You don’t need good credit to get to College and you don’t need a cosigner either. All it takes is a little research and some hard work and you will see it pay off.
